A year of events to celebrate the achievements and dedication of the Essex opening batsman.
Nick Browne established himself as a hardworking, patient opening batsman, who will always be known as a man to value his wicket. Elegant in his drive Nick will always be remembered for batting for long periods of time, often carving out big scores, proven in the 4 doubles centuries he has recorded for Essex CCC to-date, a record only bettered by Graham Gooch. Records have been a regular occurrence for Nick, an opening stand of 373 that he shared with his good friend Alistair Cook vs Middlesex will be one that is fresh in the minds of many fans.
Browne and Cook formed a formidable opening partnership during the Championship winning teams of 2017 and 2019, this partnership was pivotal to the success of the side during this period. When Cook was once asked 'Who would you want to bat for your life?' His answer was easy... Nick Browne.
Nick will always be regarded as an Essex CCC man through and through. His dedication to his county, his hard-working attitude, energy and leadership in the changing room is a common theme that many speak of when you mention his name.
To-date Nick has played nearly 200 professional games for his county, scoring nearly 9000 runs across the formats, 20 centuries, with a career best of 255.
